Lindsay Horvath, 6th Year Genetics Graduate Student, successfully defended her thesis, Deletion of an X-inactivation boundary disrupts adjacent gene silencing. In addition, Lindsay was also the recipient of the Hill Award. The Charles Hill Award is for an outstanding graduate student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department. The award is in honor of Professor Charles Hill, a former faculty member, who was an outstanding teacher and mentor for graduate students in the department. The award is open for all students whose primary advisor has an appointment in the department.
