Center Stage is the performing and visual arts program at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Our mission is to offer a regular menu of excellent art to our patients, families, caregivers, and visitors in an effort to soothe and comfort during a potentially stressful time.

Live Music: Advanced amateur and professional musicians of a variety of genres and instruments play cheerful and reflective music in numerous clinical and waiting areas.

Lunch with Center Stage: Summer lunchtime concert series in our outdoor courtyard, featuring local professional ensembles including jazz, classical, soft rock music and more.

Piano: Vetted pianists play soothing and uplifting melodies at their leisure on the pianos in our main entrance lobby and surgical wait area.

Art Exhibits: Paintings by local professional artists are displayed in various clinical and patient waiting areas. Formal artist reception and sale of artwork held twice each year.

Pick a Pic: Patients choose fine art prints to hang on their room walls during their stay. Sponsored by Association of Faculty and Friends.

Artistic Improvement: Creative economical makeovers of patient areas by our very own staff artist.

Employee Art: Organized programs to harness and showcase employee talent in visual and performing arts.

Dance for Parkinson’s: Partnership with Cobalt Dance company and Dance for PD® in which Parkinson’s disease patients learn dance and movement in a supportive environment with live music accompaniment.
