Our mission is to enhance the research conducted at The Penn State College of Medicine and elsewhere with expertise in health economics and related research methods.

The Center for Applied Studies in Health Economics (CASHE) was established in 2011 and is embedded in the Department of Public Health Sciences. CASHE focuses on research related to the effectiveness, efficiency and equity in healthcare. The Center brings together researchers across the campus and state with interests in any area of health and healthcare that can be informed by economics or with implications for economic outcomes. The Center also plays a local role in linking The Penn State College of Medicine to the community through shared interests in healthcare and research partnerships in collaboration with business and government entities.
