How to Apply

Notice

As of December 1, 2014, the Penn State MPH Program is utilizing SOPHAS.

  • By December 1, if you started a Penn State Graduate School Application for Admission, you may continue the application and are not required to apply through SOPHAS.
  • By December 1, if you had not yet started a Penn State Graduate School Application for Admission, you must apply through SOPHAS.

Application Deadlines

  • International applicants: January 15, 2015
  • Domestic applicants (includes permanent residents): March 1, 2015

Requirements for Graduate Admission

Application Instructions

For individuals who are submitting a Penn State Graduate School Application for Admission (only those who began an application before December 1 may choose this option)

  1. Go to the  Penn State Graduate School Application for Admission.
  2. Complete the application, and upload the following items:
    • copies of official transcripts/documents (If admission is offered and accepted, applicants will be required to submit official transcripts - or international equivalent as stated above - from all post-secondary institutions attended, together with an official English translation of all official documents if the language of instruction was not English to the Graduate School)
    • resume/CV
    • statement of purpose
    • two letters of recommendation
  3. Have official test scores sent to institution code, 2660.
  4. Pay the non-refundable graduate application fee.

 

For individuals who are submitting a SOPHAS Application (anyone beginning an application on or after December 1 must submit through SOPHAS)

  1. Go to SOPHAS.
  2. Create an account if you do not already have one.
  3. Follow the step-by-step instructions in SOPHAS.
  4. Pay the application fee.

If admission is offered and accepted:

  • Applicants will be required to submit a supplemental Penn State Graduate School Application for Admission. This application fee will be waived. Separate application instructions will be provided.
  • Applicants will be required to submit official transcripts (or international equivalent as stated above) from all post-secondary institutions attended, together with an official English translation of all official documents if the language of instruction was not English to the Graduate School.
