Kurt Kissinger, M.P.I.A.
Interim Director, Office of Technology Development
Effective July 14, 2014, Kurt Kissinger was appointed interim director of the Office of Technology Development at Penn State College of Medicine. Kurt will oversee the day-to-day operations of the office until the search for a new Associate Dean for Research Innovation has concluded.
Since joining Penn State College of Medicine in 2011, Kurt has served as part of the research mission leadership team at Penn State Hershey in his capacity as director of operations for the Office of the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. Reporting directly to the Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Kurt is responsible for helping to develop and implement Penn State Hershey’s strategic plan for research and graduate education, working closely with the Associate Deans and Faculty Program Directors that comprise the research mission. He also helps manage the day-to-day operations of the program offices that support investigators at Penn State Hershey.
Prior to joining the College of Medicine, Kurt worked for more than 17 years in various executive and senior management positions at both economic and healthcare development organizations, and is an active member in the University Economic Development Association (UEDA). Kurt received his Bachelor’s Degree in German and International Studies from Dickinson College and his Masters in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.
